Make a little bunny basket to celebrate Easter and all things Spring!

Print out this page and cut along the dashed line, being extra careful when cutting along the inside handles.

Next colour in the basket, fold along the dotted lines and glue the areas, marked 'stick' together to complete your basket!

Stick onto card first to make your bag super strong so that it lasts until next Spring! We filled ours with yummy mini chocolate eggs.

It's that time of year when all our thoughts turn to chocolate treats and baking with the little ones......I prefer the quick easy solutions with the maximum chocolatey squidginess myself so here is a good recipe for edible ( I hate the shredded wheat option ) rice krispie nests....mmmmmmm

\n\n

Ingredients

Nests

\n200 g Milk Chocolate (finely chopped)\n
\n200 g Dark Chocolate (finely chopped)\n
\n100 g Unsalted Butter\n
\n100 g Golden Syrup\n
Half a box of rice krispies

Topping

Cadbury's mini eggs

Melt the butter and golden syrup in a pan over low heat. When melted pop in the chopped up chocolate and stir till all melted. Tip the gooey loveliness into the bowl of rice krispies and stir the whole thing until all covered.

I used the muffin cases as they look more attractive and then topped each nest with some little eggs of your choice!

Oh, and by the way, pictured in the photo is our new dinosaur wipe clean apron which we are sure will be a real winner in the kitchen!

Available May.

Spring is finally here in the UK but it can still be cold at times (like the crazy snow this week!) which can make it tough for wild birds, as natural food sources such as insects and berries might still be in low supply. Birds need lots of energy-rich food to maintain fat reserves so their bodies can use them when temperatures drop suddenly.

Providing a food source for birds is not only a great way to help your local wildlife; encouraging birds to visit your garden will supply you with lots of beautiful birds to watch while your garden starts to awaken from winter.

$\"bird$

We’ve used our Tender Leaf bird on this free template to make a simple bird feeder. All you need is natural string, a marker pen, a skewer, scissors, cardboard, bird seed and peanut butter.

Did you know peanut butter is a good high-protein food for birds, and they can eat any of the same types as we do. If you’re buying it specifically for birds, look for natural or organic types, (we used Whole Earth). You could also try a crunchy peanut butter for an extra nutty treat. It’s best to avoid low-fat varieties, which may not have as much nutritional value for the birds.

Here’s how to make yours:

Print out the template below, (either drag and drop from here or go to our blog for the PDF download). Printing out at 100% will make a small bird feeder which is fine, but we went big and printed it twice the size onto an A3 sheet, making it easier for small hands to work with.

Next carefully cut along the dotted lines then grab your cardboard to start drawing round the templates. We used a thick, black sharpie so that the marks would show on our bird feeder, giving it a nice, bold edge.

You will then need to cut out the shapes from the cardboard as this is probably too stiff for your child to do. Next let your child spread the peanut butter all over the cardboard wreath and bird. You could do this on both sides but we recommend just one as it can get very messy! Then grab your bird seeds and sprinkle them all over the peanut butter.

$\"crfts$

Use a skewer to make a hole in the top, middle of the wreath and bird. First thread a piece of string through the bird and attach it to the middle of the wreath. Then thread another piece of string through the hole in the wreath and tie at the top ready to hang in your garden and watch the birds enjoy it!

If you need a couple of wipe clean aprons, then please pop along to our aprons to grab your little ones a couple of linen or coated ones!

Materials Needed

To make your own mini Christmas tree, gather the following items:

Toilet Roll
Chocolate Coin Wrappers
Glue
Scissors
Plain card
Brown paint or brown pen

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1: Prepare the Template

First, you will need to download and print out the free template provided. Once you have it, carefully cut out the tree from the printout and stick it onto the plain card.

Step 2: Create the Tree Stand

Next, it's time to create your tree stand. Colour your toilet roll with brown paint or a brown pen. Once dry, cut two slits into the top part of the toilet roll, about 2cm deep.

Step 3: Assemble Your Tree

Now you're ready to assemble your tree. Slot your cut-out tree into the slits of the toilet roll stand.

Step 4: Decorate!

Get creative with your decorations! We used chocolate coin wrappers to create some miniature baubles for our tree. However, you could also use sequins, or even leave it plain if you prefer a minimalist look.

Final Touches

Now all that's left to do is to place some miniature presents under your tree! For more fun ideas, see our Christmas crafts page. Why not put this tree in your doll's house and pile up some homemade presents underneath.
