Welcome to Threadbear & Tenderleaf, two brands working along side each other to create and distribute award winning and beautifully designed toys in the UK, provide global distribution and maintain the highest ethical standards of manufacture for all our products.
We have a strong focus in child development, physical, social, creative and imaginative play for the inquiring minds of our children. Our toys and gifts are designed to be treasured and passed down to future generations, made to last a lifetime of love. 

Design and Craftmanship 

We create small worlds of beautiful, contemporary toys in nature-inspired colours. With Threadbear toys bringing the soft, gentle, cuddly aspects to your child's early years, and Tenderleaf toys filling your nursery with gorgeous, modern nursery décor and heirloom toys. From aprons, to cuddly toys, to dolls houses, we have something for everyone with a wide range of products that are sure to delight any little boy or girl. 

 Both brands are united by their warm and friendly  styles and by a love of good design – sometimes charming, sometimes quirky, always imaginative and engaging.   

Tender Leaf Toys are hand-made by skilled men and women who care as much as we do about making finely crafted wooden toys. From raw timber to finished product, every stage in the creation of our toys happens in the same family-run factory. When each toy has been hand-painted, assembled and checked, it is  wrapped in paper and packed in recycled cardboard – we are close to eliminating all single-use plastic in our packaging.

ThreadBear toys are created with children in mind, from the start of design, to the finished product, the care and thought that goes into the making of our toys is unrivalled. Our aim is to engage playful minds through imaginative play, and to give your child a toy that they can love for a lifetime. We pride ourselves on working with factories that are run by the most caring people, and we put high importance on our relationships with our partners.

Meet The Maker

You probably already know Danielle, you may not have met her, but if you are in the Toy and Gift industry then we are confident that you will know her vicariously through her creations. Her designs have won numerous toy awards over the past 20 years and her style is instantly recognisable. You will be familiar with her distinctive flair and creative talent through other companies she has designed for over the years. After spending many years in Indonesia working closely with the Mentari factory, it became apparent that the natural step was to partner with Mentari and create Tender Leaf Toys and to bring this fabulous new brand in to the UK marketplace.

Having recently established ThreadBear Design with Nick Shirley who is in himself a renowned authority in the Gift & Textile industry Danielle Hanson has also created a fabulous contemporary range of Children’s textiles, which has enabled her strong aesthetic style to bridge the 2 companies and so become perfect partners with Tender Leaf Toys in the children's Gift Industry. 

Our aim is to remain small and focused and to support the independent market by offering the best range of wooden and textile gifts, whilst looking after our planet.
